B. There is spontaneous resolution of the neurologic deficit in a TIA
RATIONALE
•Due to cerebral ischemia, there is a temporary loss of cognitive function that eventually resolves. A large portion of patient’s with a TIA will suffer from a CVA and experience permanent deficits.
•Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) is a warning sign of an impending CVA. It has a brief period of neurologic deficit such as loss of vision, hemiparesis and, slurred speech.

•A TIA is not permanent, and does not have long-term neurologic deficits. CVA may cause long-term deficits.
